According to my experience if you want to learn how to play you need to learn it fast and start playing something immediately. To be a professional you have to spend years of practicing 5-8 hours per day, but to reach an acceptable level where you can play the songs you like, you can accompany yourself and your friends you have to learn few basic things and what is the most important – you have to understand how to use it on practice with any possible song.
