An excellent training about Programming Languages
Into Programming: Odds and Evens
OverviewI designed this course to give you – as an aspiring programmer – a first contact with the world of code. Programming is a complex world. Its strict rules and abstract concepts make newcomers feel lost and discouraged. And believe me, I’ve been through it and know the pain. So, my goal is to smooth your transition into this frightening new world. And I’m sure that developing console games is not your goal. But, this course it’s all about building a programming foundation. Developing simple games for the console, allow us to focus solely on the core knowledge. Which will allow a smoother transition to more complex projects later on. This is just a stepping stone. This course focus on a single game and introduces the necessary concepts to implement it. And this is one of my key strategies. Only the necessary concepts are introduced in each course. Meaning that new information will be given on a need-to-know basis. Nothing more and nothing less than what’s needed. And as a final note, I suggest you complete the course in one sitting. I designed it to be quite short and to build each concept on top of the previous one. So, I believe, you’ll have a better experience going through everything without breaks in between. Why should you get itYou want to learn how to program but. You have no idea where to start; You don’t even know if you’ll like it;You want a quick experience to see what it’s all about. What will you getA first contact with the world of code: You’ll learn the required concepts to start programming. This foundation will allow you to later proceed to more challenging goals. The programmer way of thinking: More important than learning the syntax, is acquiring the programmer way of thinking. In this course you’ll complete a concrete task. So, not only you’ll be learning an entire new language and related concepts, but you’ll also be immediately applying it to achieve a given goal.A transferable body of knowledge across programming languages: Although we’ll be using C#, most of the knowledge acquired in this series, is easily transferable to some other popular languages. How will you get itLearning new concepts on a need-to-know basis;Deconstructing common and simple game logics;Completing quick games with a single and clear goal. When will you get itThis is one is entirely up to you, but if you got this far, I guess you’ll start right away. So, I’ll meet you in a bit!
